Hiking Edgewood County Park


I never got around to writing about my hike from last Saturday, but better late than never! Last weekend I hiked in Edgewood Park in San Mateo County. I completed a loop that was just over 1.6 miles, and was a mix of shaded and open areas. It was a very hot day, so the shaded areas provided much needed relief from the hot sun. The views in the open areas were spectacular!

Signs warn to watch for mountain lions and rattlesnakes, and while I have not seen either on a Bay Area hike, I have heard stories of close encounters. Though I didn’t see these potentially dangerous animals, I did see many lizards scurrying across the trail, and there were pretty wildflowers everywhere.
