If you’re at all like me, you love to travel, but flying can make you a bit apprehensive. Well, get ready to loosen your grip on the arm rest. A friend recently gave me a copy of Cockpit Confidential by pilot Patrick Smith and this book changed everything.

Smith effortlessly takes you through all of the technicalities of airplane operation using layman’s terms, keeping it interesting and captivating. He discusses and debunks some of the most common fears and misconceptions passengers have about flying. He even talks about the most serious crashes in aviation history, what went wrong, and what changes have been put in place to prevent these things from happening again. Cockpit Confidential has given me peace of mind when flying, and I think it can help you, too!
