Have you ever thought about how many plastic bottles you go through each year for your shampoo, conditioner, face wash, body wash, etc? You can recycle the cleaned out bottles, but if the brand you buy doesn’t use recycled packaging materials, you are still buying new plastics with each new bottle.

I recently decided to try to cut some more of the plastic from my routine. There are several companies out there that make shampoo and conditioner bars. I tried out a few until I found the combo that worked best for me.

I now use the Lush Seanik Shampoo Bar and Ethique’s The Guardian Conditioner Bar. I tried Lush’s conditioner bar, but found it didn’t work well with my fine hair.

Next, I wanted to stop using liquid body wash. There are way more options for body soap bars than there are for your hair. After trying a few different ones, I landed on Yardley London Oatmeal and Almond Bath Bar.

Lastly, I needed to find an alternative to my face wash. I know this can be trickier based on your skin type and how susceptible you are to break outs. I landed on the classic Neutrogena Original Formula Fragrance Free Facial Bar, but there are many options out there so keep looking until you find the right one for you.

So far, this routine has been working well for me. I may continue to explore other brands and formulas just to see what else is out there. If any of you have tried any you would recommend, let me know and I’d love to give it a go!
