I know, I know. Bills and work and scheduling your own doctor appointments can be a real drag. But hear me out, there are a few good things about being a grown up.

You can eat whatever you want. Ice cream and cereal for dinner? Sure. Burrito night for the fourth night this week? Why not? It’s up to you to find balance, but no one can tell you to eat your veggies.

Your money is your money. That’s right, you earned it. If you want to buy something and you can afford it, you don’t need mom and dad’s permission. Treat yo self.

You can stay up as late as you want. You want to stay out until 4am on a work night? That’s your prerogative. You may be tired tomorrow, but no one can stop you!

You’re allowed to drink coffee. The elixir of the gods. It’s not for everyone, but I’m useless without my cup o’ joe every morning. When I was younger, my parents wouldn’t let me drink the stuff. It made me “too hyperactive” or something.

One word. Wine. I saved the best for last. Grown ups get to drink wine. As someone who lives pretty close to wine country in California, this is an important one.

So as you can see, there are some good things about adulting. What are your favorite parts about being a grown up?

  1. You’ve nailed it! The best part of adulting is defnitely being allowed to drink coffee!! I work in a school and on trips the kids arent allowed to drink it and i take great pleasure in them watching me drink the mighty fine elixer.

    Thanks for sharing!!
