This is why you don’t let your cat roam outdoors This is why you don’t let your cat roam outdoors. My neighbor’s cat killed this young hummingbird this morning. This bird is one of many casualties at the paws of this cat. I’ve found dead lizards, rodents, and other birds. I even rescued a baby opossum from him last year. When I came across this little hummingbird, he was still chirping, albeit weakly, while my neighbor’s cat batted him around and played with him. It was heartbreaking. 💔

Domestic cats are not natural predators to birds and other native wildlife. I love this cat, and it isn’t his fault, he’s just acting on natural instincts. It is the cat owners responsibility.
If you already have outdoor cats and don’t think you can just keep them inside now, at least put a bell on their color so wild animals can hear them coming. It won’t save them all but it might save some.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. #keepcatsindoors #savewildlife
If you’re wondering what you can do as a white p If you’re wondering what you can do as a white person to support the movement:
•we can listen
•we can educate ourselves
•we can stand side by side with our brothers and sisters of color
•we can avoid phrases like “I don’t see color” and “all lives matter”
•we can acknowledge that we have privilege simply because we were born white
•we can donate to organizations like @blklivesmatter and the @naacp
•we can check in on our friends, colleagues, and neighbors of color
